There are three broad needs that vary depending on the stage of this journey that individuals, family members, or caregivers might find themselves to be in. Namely:
IANA Health strives to meet all three needs through one integrated platform. Have you searched for information, a clinician, or a support group and come up with a lot of information and leads but all scattered and needing time to wade through? We hope you find the one-stop hub offering valuable and useful. We welcome your feedback. Contact us anytime at [email protected]
I Having Opioid, Alcohol, and Other Substance Information and Tools Organized for Easy Access
There is a lot of information and content out there…. and it’s fragmented and difficult to navigate. We get it. IANA provides a one-stop hub for content, tools, and links related to opioid, alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. Individuals, families, caregivers, and health professionals can access and quickly find information, tools and other educational resources from a single portal.
Are we missing information, tools, or apps? Please drop us a note at [email protected] and let us know.
II Ability to Connect with a Counselor, Psychologist, or Other Clinician Easily
There are two parts to this.
We find that many of us want to connect with virtual counselors, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other behavioral health specialists. We get it. It saves time, travel, and hassle. And, connecting with a phone or computer from pretty much any place is great.
At the same time, some of us still prefer meeting our clinician in-person, or, at least initiating the relationship that way with the option to continue virtually. Either way, counseling for opioid, alcohol, tobacco and other substance use is part of the recommended treatment approach and is critical.
The second part to this is having it be cost effective. We get it. There is a range in coverage, copays, and deductibles across different insurance plans. Being able to connect easily with a counselor or psychologist or therapist means not worrying about the expense involved.
IANA hopes to facilitate both the access and cost effectiveness aspects by partnering with provider and payer organizations and making these solutions available through our portal.
III Being Supported as Part of a Community
IANA. I Am Not Alone. Millions of others face the same issues and concerns. We really must get this. Knowing this should first free us. Second, make us accept that substance use and addiction is part of the spectrum of human diseases. Third, recognize that although it has carried a burden of stigma with it, that has now changed. As we all have become educated and continue to further our understanding in this area, we can share, support, and help each other. The third goal of IANA is to facilitate that connection and sharing.
